How to fetch—and win

  1. 1

    Follow the scent. Connect touching letters across, down, or diagonally. Drag and release, or tap letters and press Fetch It. A tile can only be used once.

  2. 2

    Fetch common English words. Words need at least four letters and cannot be repeated. The game uses a smaller common-English word list. Huck handles inspection.

  3. 3

    Build your score. Four-letter words earn 2 points; then 3, 5, 7, and 10+ points as words get longer. The score is just for fun.

  4. 4

    Find eight words total. One must be today’s hidden ball word: an everyday word from any topic. It is always 6+ letters, so it also completes the long throw. Use “Show hint” for its first letter and length.
